Cat boarding for Diwali, in real homes.

Going home for Diwali on Sunday 8 November? Your cat stays with a PetNanny sitter in their own home, where cats are the only guests. Share your dates, and sitters near you reply with their price. It's free to ask.

How it works

  1. Share your dates, your area and a little about your cat.
  2. Sitters near you see the request and reply with their price for the nights you need.
  3. Read their pages, ask them anything, and choose. You pay the sitter directly at drop-off; PetNanny adds nothing on top.

Diwali, firecrackers and your cat

Firecrackers are loud, and sudden bangs and flashes can frighten cats. Tell your sitter how your cat reacts to noise, so they can plan for the nights around Diwali.

Cats Protection, a UK cat charity, advises keeping cats indoors after dark when fireworks are expected, closing curtains and windows, giving a frightened cat places to hide (a box or a covered bed), and letting it come out in its own time rather than picking it up. Background sound such as the radio or TV can mask sudden bangs.

What to pack

When is Diwali in 2026?

Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) is on Sunday 8 November 2026. The five days of the festival run from Dhanteras on 6 November to Bhai Dooj on 11 November.

When should I ask for Diwali dates?

Whenever your travel plans are settled. Asking earlier gives you more homes with free dates to choose from, and it costs nothing to ask.

How much does cat boarding cost over Diwali?

Each sitter sets their own nightly price and shows it on their page. You pay the sitter directly at drop-off, and PetNanny takes nothing on top.

Are the homes cats only?

Cats are the only guests: no sitter on PetNanny boards dogs. If a pet lives in the home, the sitter names it on their page, so you can choose.

What if I don't have time to compare homes?

For ₹50 we call you at a time you pick, ask about your cat, and choose the home for you the same day. The ₹50 comes off your bill, or comes back in full if we can't find the right home.
