What we never put in a PetNanny product, what we check every batch for, and why a cat-only standard matters: cats are not small dogs.

We never use

• Essential oils of any kind
• Permethrin or other pyrethroid insecticides
• Phenols or phenolic disinfectants
• Quaternary-ammonium disinfectants ("quats", such as benzalkonium chloride)
• Artificial colours
• Added sugar in treats, and carrageenan in lickable treats
• Heavy perfume or "baby powder" fragrance in litter
